The Muskingum Watershed Conservacy District has developed and set in place guidelines for events held on MWCD lakes. These guidelines are now known as the "MARINE EVENT POLICY".
It is understandable that guidelines and reasonable permit fees are necessary to maintain order and harmony on the waters and boat ramps. The majority of event participants and organizers maintain a level of professionalism and excellent organizational skills as demonstrated by the history of numerous Bass, Musky, walleye, Saugeye, Crappie Fishing Clubs and boat clubs over decades of previous years. These organizations are always courteous and considerate of the non participants and more often than not, give them the right away and a helping hand whenever possible.
The thousands of participants often ask if any of these organizations were ever asked or polled for input by MWCD when these guidelines are being developed and imposed. As with many policies there can be questionable issues. Should you find reason to complain about any part of this Marine Event Policy try not to procrastinate, but rather send your written complaint(s)
to the Board of Directors and the Manager of operations at :
